Few people realize that the advent of icing tea was an unplanned event. It started on a steamy day at the 1904 St. Louis World’s Fair. In an effort to boost the lagging sales in his hot tea booth, a young man borrowed some ice from the adjacent ice cream vendor to cool down his tea. Now, 100 years later, iced tea is one of the fastest growing segments of the tea market.

Throughout the summer, Peaberry’s offers three teas on ice in our store: a traditional black, a green, and an herbal/non-caffeinated tea. The selection rotates every two weeks to give customers an to experience how delicious our range of full leaf teas are when prepared iced.
